Encino Omnium II

Sunday was a whirlwind of racing and revelry and, while it may be over, we‘re still basking in the glow of all that hot nasty speed.

Almost 100 racers gave it their all on the steep-banked walls of the velodrome. The full day spanned several disciplines with flying 200s, scratch races, miss and outs, points races, and a dash for cash!

There were riders of all skill levels, from newbies taking their first laps on the drome to former State and National Champs, all enjoying a day of pure two-wheeled speed.

Even the spectators got into the competitive spirit, hunting down the gold cogs hidden around the track to claim some sweet scavenger hunt swag!

One lucky rider even took home a brand new Premium in the raffle (and helped raise money for the Encino Velodrome and events just like Sunday’s)!

At the end of the day, the happiest riders were the ones atop the podium, but there wasn’t a long face in the crowd. It was an amazing day to celebrate speed and the LA bike scene.

We can’t wait to do it again, and we’re looking forward to seeing you there! In the meantime, brush up on your track skills (or come early next time to get certified), and get training!
